Words Can Be Limiting

"You can only express in words what words are capable of expressing-- what language can communicate. Painting has nothing to do with that."

Words Can Be Limiting
Inspiring Creativity - Gerhard Richter

Words are incredibly powerful, but there are other ways to communicate profound emotions. Painting, sculpture, and other visual art forms can evoke intense feelings without a single word being spoken. As Queer people, art provides another way to connect deeply with others, even those who might resist our messages if presented in written or spoken language. Perhaps this need to communicate with a wider audience that doesn’t always understand us is why so many Queer individuals are drawn to creative and artistic fields—it’s where our truths can shine the brightest.
