Here is a list of some of the leading resources for Queer people in the United States. For more options - or ones closer to home - an internet search can point you to additional, geographically targeted organizations.

  • The Trevor Project - Leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services specifically for LGBTQ+ youth.
  • PFLAG - Offers support, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies, with chapters nationwide.
  • GLAAD - Focuses on media advocacy to shape fair and accurate representation of LGBTQ+ identities.
  • Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - The largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the U.S., championing legal protections and policy reforms.
  • A4TE (NCTE & TLDEF) - A policy and advocacy group dedicated to increasing understanding and acceptance of transgender people.
  • SAGE - Improves the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults through community services, advocacy, and caregiver support.
  • LGBT National Help Center - Provides free, confidential peer-support and local resource referrals via hotlines and online chat.
  • Out & Equal - Collaborates with employers to create inclusive workplaces through training, best practices, and leadership development.
  • Trans Lifeline - A grassroots hotline and microgrants organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.
